The former water-mill is located in the heart of a charming chestnut and oak wood in the municipality of Cortona, a characteristic town rich with history, art and important cultural events. Montalcino, Montepulciano, Cetona, Siena and Florence in Tuscany and Todi, Spello, Perugia, Assisi, Montefalco, Spoleto and Castiglione del Lago in Umbria are only a short distance away. The original building of this ancient watermill goes back to 1500. During its renovation its original characteristics which once allowed the daily milling of grain have been kept intact. The millstone is currently visible from the sitting room on the ground floor, where we also find a large kitchen, an atrium which acts as a sitting room with fireplace and a private WC. The sitting room boasts a staircase with steps in original pietra serena and antique wood which are set into exposed stone. The first floor comprises a double bedroom with a fireplace going back to 1500 and exposed stone walls; a further double bedroom and a large bathroom with a 19th century style bathtub. The house is located at the centre of a plot of land that measures about 8.000 sqm. where a built-in swimming pool has been installed. The house will be served with all necessary utilities.
